MEDEXA Diagnostisk Service AB is a well known company within high end technology for health care with diagnostic ultrasound, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and fetal surveillance as background. The company started initially with diagnostics through MRI in Lund, where MEDEXA performed 5500 examinations per year with a so called low field magnet. MEDEXA have also had MRI operations in Ljungby, in Malmö in co-operation with Praktikertjänst AB and in Gdansk, Poland. MEDEXA have also educated x-ray personnel in MRI diagnostics at the Lund University Hospital, the clinics in Ljungby, Visby, Malmö and in Gdansk. MEDEXA’s founder has a solid background within medical diagnostics and with several well known innovations within different disciplines such as: “Echocardiotomography” Acta Scand. Suppl. 1977; 627:212-6 “Collection of human oocytes by the use of sonography” Fertil Steril;1983;39(5):603-6. The founder has also participated in Swedish Radio “The World of Science” and own manufactured products have drawn attention in Swedish Television. MEDEXA have also frequently occurred in national press. The founder has also been Director of the Board of the European Federation of Societies for Ultrasound in Medicine & Biology 1979-1981, together with Professors A. Kratochwil, A. Kurjak, C.R. Hill and R.G. Loch. MEDEXA have developed and CE marked the MILOU central review and archiving system for fetal surveillance. There are today more than 90 installations in Europe for instance at the Karolinska University Hospital in Solna and Huddinge, the University Hospitals in Malmö, Lund and Linköping, the hospitals in Halmstad, Jönköping and Värnamo and also at several hospitals in Denmark, Norway, Finland, Switzerland, Austria, Germany and United Kingdom. MEDEXA has been rewarded the IT-price of the Swedish Healthcare 2009 for the MILOU system in the category Medical technology solutions, a price issued by the journals Dagens Medicin and Computer Sweden. MEDEXA have assignments for German, American, Japanese and Chinese medical technology companies. MEDEXA perform ultrasound examinations at the Cura Clinic in Malmö. MEDEXA are supplier of fetal surveillance, colposcopes, lactate meters, light sources, software, dental products and disposables. MEDEXA are at this moment developing three new products for fetal diagnostics and have through Carl Johans Stenberg and Oscar Hansson participated in a scientific study together with prominent scientists within fetal physiology in Germany.
